‘Now my course is set for an unchartered sea’ (Paradiso, canto II)
This year, starting and ending in Florence, Dante’s birthplace, I will walk Dante’s 235 mile exile route as I reflect upon some 20 years working with refugees in Italy and abroad. Unlike the official walk which starts and ends at Dante’s grave in Ravenna, I will begin and end in Florence as he would have wanted.
